Licensed massage practitioner and bala studios proprietor, Michelle Sharp began her massage career in 1998 when she completed a professional massage program at the Austin School of Massage Therapy in Austin, Texas. Michelle then engaged in a year-long internship at the Himalayan InstituteÕs Center for Health and Healing. During this time she studied Ayurveda, yoga, and massage in depth and served as program director for the CenterÕs massage programs. She worked in collaboration with a diversely integrated healthcare team including medical doctors, Ayurvedic physicians, Homeopaths, biofeedback therapist, and yoga therapists.
In 2000 Michelle returned to the Pacific Northwest to attend The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. While studying natural and health sciences, she completed a 650-hour massage program at the Port Townsend School of Massage in Port Townsend, Washington. She received her Washington State Massage Therapy license in the spring of 2003 and Bachelor of Science degree from The Evergreen State College in the spring of 2004.
Michelle believes massage is a simple non-evasive way to address health issues. She has experience working on clients with a wide variety of injuries and diseases. She is capable of working with people at any stage of health or life. She uses a variety of techniques and high quality oils, which nourish the skin and the nervous system. MichelleÕs ayurvedic approach to the body and the world is therapeutically effective.
